If you haven’t considered buying a printer recently, you’ll want to not only look at traditional inkjet all-in-one printers but newer AIO inkjets that come with large built-in ink tanks, which can hold as much as two-years’ worth of ink and allow you to drive down the price of ink, since these newer ink-tank inkjets waste far less ink the cartridges. But one of the biggest factors in determining if any printer is in fact a cheap printer is figuring out how much you’ll have to spend on replacement ink cartridges. Printer prices vary quite a bit–you can buy one for a little as $50 or spend more than $500. However, it might not be able to do the printing, scanning or copying jobs you need it to do. So, if you buy a single-function printer, you might save money. Of course, most people need a printer to work on a variety of jobs and projects-not only for printing, but also for scanning and copying, and maybe even faxing. Some photogs want to run prints for proofs, while others may just need to print black-and-white documents. Even among photographers, use cases can vary widely. For starters, you might need it for a set of tasks that another person might not find all that important. Finding the best cheap printer for your needs isn’t always an easy task.
